Elevator safety is governed by international standards. In Bangladesh, most quality installations reference EN81-20:2014 (Safety rules for passenger and goods lifts) or the GB7588-2003(2015) Chinese national standard, both of which set minimum requirements for mechanical, electrical and safety device specifications.
